'you're something special'

Nothing...in the whole world will ever be able to separate us from the love of God.

Romans 8:39

We want to know how long God's love will endure...Not just on Easter Sunday when our shoes are shined and our hair is fixed...Not when I'm peppy and positive and ready to tackle world hunger. Not then. I know how he feels about me then. Even I like me then.

I want to know how he feels about me when I snap at anything that moves, when my thoughts are gutter-level, when my tongue is sharp enough to slice a rock. How does he feel about me then?...

Can anything separate us from the love Christ has for us?

God answered our question before we asked it. So we'd see his answer, he lit the sky with a star. So we'd hear it, he filled the night with a choir; and so we'd believe it, he did what no man had ever dreamed. He became flesh and dwelt among us.

He placed his hand on the shoulder of humanity and said, "You're something special."

My Christmas Sacrifice

As most of you may know, I'm a Service Manager for FedEx Ground. The hours can sometimes take a toll on me, especially during the holiday season, but I thought, 'No problem, I'm gonna get a 2-day break from work on the 25th and 26th. No big.'. All that changed when I found out that our terminals up in Washington weren't doing so good. Naturally, they needed help from other terminals. I was really hesitant to go since of course: I would have to leave the day after Christmas and miss out on one da… Continue

Philippians 1:9-10

And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ,

Philippians 1:9-10

"The way we love others should constantly grow and deepen in its knowledge and insight. And when our love grows in knowledge, we can more readily 'discern what is best' for our lives. Don't we all desperately need that discernment?" -Josh Harris

God's Help Is Near

The Lord is close to everyone who prays to him, to all who truly pray to him.

Psalm 145:18

Healing begins when we do something. Healing begins when we reach out. Healing starts when we take a step.

God's help is near and always available, but it is only given to those who seek it. Nothing results from apathy....

God honors radical, risk-taking faith.

When arks are built, lives are saved. When soldiers march, Jerichos tumble. When staffs are raised, seas still open. When a lunch is sh… Continue

"Adios"

I was thinking about that word earlier and about what it meant. I know it means 'goodbye' in Spanish, but why 'adios'? 'a' in Spanish is 'to' and 'dios' in Spanish is 'God'. So, why does 'goodbye' in Spanish translate to 'to God' in English?

So, as any inquisitive mind would do...I googled it. Ha! (I love google). I know Wikipedia is not a very trustworthy source, but this is what it said:

"Adiós is Spanish for "goodbye". Literally translated, the word is the contraction of "a" (to) and "DiContinue
