The lie we sometimes fall into as christians is that there is a level of pain in which we are exempt from. The truth is that as christians we are going to have pain whether it is rejection or persecution, we are going to feel it.
The result of this is:
Discouragement: Asking why; or having doubt
or
Disengagement: Karma; past lives, and pulling away
The Truth of this is:
1. Pain is a normal christian exprience.
Philippians 3:10 explains that GOD lives to share his suffering. We are like sheep, we need pain to to grow and understand.
2. Pain is an opportunity for us to grow.
James 1:2-4 explains to us that as christians we will come across trials that we think are difficult to handle, but the testing phases that he brings us will help you grow spirituallly.
Romans 5:3-5 explians that there is glory in the pian we feel because in our sufferings is produced perseverance which leads to build character which then builds hope.
3. Pain has a purpose.
2 Corithians 12:7 explains that we need to have a dependance on GOD. We only feel our pain when God is at work in our lives and when he is working with us we need to trust in him and not have any doubt that he can get us through it.
4. Pain is no reason to quit.
1 Thessalonians 2:2 tells us that we need to be bold and not hide, or back down in the pressures of persecution. We need to be Bold in the eyes of christ.
5. Pain has power.
2 Corinthians 12:9 says that of God is sufficient for you in Grace, and strength. If he can bring you to it then he can bring you through it. You are at your best when you are at your weakest.
You see our problem is not that God doesn't help us when we need him, it is that when the storm comes our way we focus on that instead of God. When we are at our weakest point in life that is when our light shines through but we can't see it ourselves.
We have his promise of love and comfort. He will never abandon you....
